Samsung are aiming for the stars in new updates to their signature smartphone line
Following the release of the Galaxy S24, users encountered some setbacks with the phone’s camera performance in certain situations. Addressing these concerns, Samsung committed to rectifying these issues through software updates. Initially, the first update made some improvements, but it wasn’t until the April 2024 update that most of the remaining camera-related issues were effectively resolved. This latest update is now available for users in the USA.
Bringing enhancements specifically targeted at camera functionalities, the April 2024 update is applicable to factory-unlocked versions of the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra. Identified by the firmware version S92xU1UEU1AXCB, this update entails a substantial download size, hence it is advisable to utilize a Wi-Fi network for smoother downloading.
Samsung’s efforts with this update are primarily focused on refining various aspects of the Galaxy S24’s camera capabilities. Notable improvements include enhancements in white balance accuracy and exposure, better low-light image quality, and improved color accuracy within the ExpertRAW camera application. Notably, the ExpertRAW app will receive a separate update to fully implement these enhancements. Furthermore, users can anticipate enhanced text clarity in high-range zoom shots, along with expanded support for the Instant Slow Mo feature, now accommodating videos with resolutions up to 480×480 pixels.
In addition to camera enhancements, the April 2024 update also integrates the latest security measures with the inclusion of the April 2024 security patch. This patch addresses security vulnerabilities identified in preceding software versions, bolstering the device’s overall security posture.
